Pre-read · the engine room of AI

Three takeaways from the opening dinner on 13 October with Frits van Hout, former ASML board member.

  1. 1 · AI growth is running into physical limits: compute, data transport and energy. One modern AI datacenter draws 330 MW before cooling.
  2. 2 · Europe controls several of the narrowest bottlenecks in the chain: ASML, Zeiss, Trumpf, Besi, Nearfield Instruments and Smart Photonics.
  3. 3 · The real advantage sits in what others cannot see. For our own organisations that means process knowledge, data and people.
